Graduation Information

 

 

Cap and Gown:

 

All faculty and graduates participating in any of the Millersville University commencement ceremonies are required to be in academic regalia. 

- Bachelor's Cap and Gown packages include a black gown, cap, and tassel. If students are expecting honor cords for University Latin Honors, Department Honors, or University Honors College, they will be automatically included in their order for no extra fee. Some groups recognize their graduates with additional symbols like cords or stoles. These vary and are arranged by the organization.

- Master's Cap and Gown packages include a black master's gown, academic hood, cap, and tassel. 

- Doctoral Cap and Gown packages include a black doctoral gown, velvet tam, academic hood, and gold tassel. 

- Caps are one-size-fits-all. X-large caps are available at request.

Gown Sizing is measured by the graduate's height and are available in the following sizes.

4'9"- 4' 11"

5'0" - 5' 2"

5'3"- 5'5"

5'6" - 5'8"

5'9" - 5'11"

6'0" - 6'2" 

6'3"+  

Plus size guidelines from our vendor. - Though this size chart is provided by the vendor, we often find sizing up one height size is a better solution for graduates. 

Gowns are available at the University Store to try on if you are between sizes or not sure which will fit best. Gowns can also be exchanged if you need a different size.

Plus 1 – 4’9”-5’5” (over 200 lbs.)
Plus 2 – 5’6”-5’11” (over 275 lbs.)
Plus 3 – 6’1”-6’5” (over 325 lbs.)

 

Deadlines

There is no deadline to purchase in-stock regalia for bachelor, master, or doctoral students. However, you are advised to purchase regalia well in advance to ensure availability.

Faculty must order rental regalia at least four weeks before Commencement.

Faculty ordering custom-made Fine Quality regalia must place orders at least eight weeks before Commencement.

Diploma Frames

High quality diploma frames can be purchased from the University Store both in store and from our website. Diploma frames are in stock year round. Frames may be shipped to your home address or picked up at the University Store.

Graduation and Alumni Merchandise: 

Time to show off that you are a proud, new Alum! Alumni merchandise is available for purchase at www.mville.store/alumni. An assortment of merchandise is available including alumni apparel, custom yard signs, drinkware and other accessories.
